Can't really trip without legs, but kind of trippy regardless.
Twilight Sparkle would be the last of the Mane 6 to undergo an eldritch transformation as she finds it to be a perversion of equine life, unsettling enough when it started happening to her friends, even worse when Celestia and Luna revealed that they were the same way. She would only be forced into such a situation out of necessity when it comes time for Equestria to be under threat from another threat - probably Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, or Tempest Shadow and the Storm King, details undecided so far - and she comes to realize how much it opens up the universe for her perspective. I decided that the whole fractal theme would be shared for alicorns so Twilight Sparkle has a very similar design to Celestia and Luna, but I decided to add in a star/space sort of theme for her to be more unique, also her floaty bits are meant to be more like metal than bone or rock, and I was suggested to draw influence from some Dark Star things from League of Legends.

As much as I like the transparency I may have to tone it down because I nearly destroyed SAI in the process of coloring this.
She's probably still capable of forming legs though, this is just a post-plane-shift mid-formation thing most likely.

The last to transform in terms of the chronology of the setting.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack were done a long time ago but I never got around to uploading them and then I decided to get them reworked and now I haven't finished any of the new stuff for them yet. Pinkie Pie hasn't been drawn yet, that will be coming up in the future hopefully.

I still haven't watched the original MLP series so I don't really know much about Grogar unfortunately.
My plans currently are skewing toward the plot with Sunset being what leads to Twilight ascending as an alicorn/eldritch acolyte. I'm not entirely sure yet exactly what that will entail beyond Sunset causing problems while in her coma and needing to be woken up. She may end up becoming an alicorn and/or eldritch in the process of such events too.
Starlight I'm juggling ideas for involving exactly what will have to be going on in her town to get attention from other ponies. Eldritch ponies lose their cutie marks because they're changing their destiny as ponies so the plot wouldn't be able to revolve around that. She might be trying to hide eldritchness from the town while simultaneously being eldritch herself, but how that will work I'm uncertain of, I'm considering something similar to the nature of IT and the town of Derry.
When I contemplate Tempest I can't help but think that no matter what things are going to end poorly for her in the Eldritchverse. The plot with her would have to be significantly different than the movie because a frontal invasion like she tried to do would be met with Celestia nuking them all immediately. Something about wanting to bring her back to Equestria because she's a pony and she uses it as an opportunity to try to find some way to undermine the eldritch ponies who are far too powerful for any of the Storm King's forces otherwise, only to have a change of heart when it's already too late to stop an attack, something something etcetera etcetera inevitable heroic sacrifice somewhere along the line, needs a lot of thought.
