A sniff or two is all it takes...(Beast-Boy picture trade)
A few weeks back
beast-boy and I decided to do a picture trade of each other's favorite character. I asked him to draw his version of Mr. Airwick (not just my fave; the TF crowd has been a fan of this "little dandy" for quite a while) and in exchange I would draw his favorite critter.
Here's his end of the bargain. As you can see, Mr. Airwick is having his usual effect on an unsuspecting visitor. I love the flowing purple background, the perfect depiction of his cloudy state of mind as fur continues to spread across his body while his skunk tail grows fuller and plusher...
My half of our trade was just posted on
beast-boy's site - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/26302123/ (and in a few hours/days/whatever we'll each post our own picture on our own sites too.)
I enjoyed doing this trade very much; I haven't done a lot of art while working on Furry Nation and now that that's eased off a bit I have more free time; I'm open to doing trades with other folks: their version of Mr. Airwick in exchange for what they'd like me to draw.

Oh, very much so! (Otherwise it would be difficult to lure folks to their skunkdom.) I imagine his scent to be wonderfully flower-like and heady to the point of intoxication (not to mention, of course, transformation).
Then again in his character description on his Circe's Funhouse* page I did say he mentally controls his scent's aroma (from enchantingly pleasant to utterly horrific), efficacy and strength - if a really obnoxious anti-Mephite did cross his path, they might not enjoy the experience at all, but they'd still wind up thoroughly skunked.
* Don't bother looking for it; the Funhouse is currently offline. I'm planning to re-open the site sometime this spring.

Glade, like a forest glade in which you might find a skunk or two? Or perhaps like a trademarked commercial aerosol air freshener?
I think I mentioned this somewhere else: people are more attracted to personalities than things, which is why the M&M characters are very distinctive (the green one is a sexy gal!) or the AMC red circles are also very specific characters - or why a sly seductive fellow like Mr Airwick is more popular than a ride with no personality to it.
There is this guy in the Funhouse - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2099237/ - but Dr. Roo is a frustrated scientist who came to the Funhouse to continue his TF experiments after the real world's legal & medical authorities took a dim view of his unorthodox techniques. He doesn't specialize in any particular species TF either, just whatever he thinks might suit his...patients. (He wasn't expecting to wind up a cartoon kangaroo in the Funhouse, but he finds his pouch an excellent place to keep his equipment close at paw.)

The air freshener because Airwick is also a brand .
I remember you mentioning the personality vs thing er thing before. I guess for me, it's more, with a thing, it has no ill will. The person changing sort of does it to themselves (even if they're just getting onto a ride).
With a personality doing it, it's leaving that persons fate in someone else's hands and will (so to speak). I'm guess I'm just the type that's a bit uncomfortable with that unless it's a change that's 100% consensual.
While one could argue that the person using the object (or smoking the cigar, drinking the beer) still isn't exactly asking for it to happen, for me, it feels different. It'd be like the Coachman grabbing Lampwick and turning into a donkey instead of how we saw it happen if that makes any sense.

You make a good point. I've always thought that even if someone tricks/lures you into a TF (or a ride or soemthing consumable does it), even though you might be afraid or try to resist it, once you're fully TF'd you say "hey, this is pretty good - why was I so upset?"
It is a lot more fun when they end up enjoying it .
Although ones where someone causes it can be a lot of fun if they're friendly. Imagining a pony fan becoming a pony and it's caused by their favorite character. I'm sure lots of fans would like that . In Airwick's case, a consensual skunk tf would be awesome though, especially if the person embraced his scent and their changing form with him providing encouragement. I know that's something one can't really get from an object.
I guess like so many other things, it's all about context.

Actually, if you do an FA search for "Airwick" you'll see 35 pix done by me and various fans of the charming little fellow.
