Justin, the former Captain of the Guard in "The Secret of NIMH", with his new wife Isabella on their wedding day. Done in watercolor and gouache. The song "Believe" from the musical The Scarlet Pimpernel was my inspiration for this one.

Glad someone caught that. Yes, it's Isabella from the book--she's all grown up, and after getting over her crush on Justin and moving forward into her adult life, they ended up getting together much later--and she fell genuinely in love with him, and he with her. :)
I never liked the Justin/Brisby pairing much, to be honest. Maybe because Bella gets jealous over the whole thing. X.x Thanks for the lovely comment! I worked hard on that detail--can you tell I'm a fashion/costume nerd?

I always enjoy it when an artist takes extra care making sure their props or environments stand out, for me it's little things like that which can turn art into magic.

Thanks for that lovely comment--I like my images to appear as detailed as possible. ;) Plus I'm a bit finicky about making sure EVERYTHING is just right.
