Kermit is a homeless tripod colored tabby cat in a stray cat colony that I recently came across living on the streets and immediately started helping them. I am planning to adopt Kermit once I can get him neutered and vaccinated. Currently he lives between two houses next to a trash can. He's semi tame and very gentle but does not want to be touched because he's afraid but isn’t' afraid to be near my knees. Poor thing is so skinny :(. For the last week I've been bringing food to the cat colony every night as its too hot during the day and the sidewalk is baking. They are very eager at night to see me and all get food and full tummies. They were all born on the streets and so far there is a total of 8 cats living in this colony.
I'm waiting for a humane cat trap to arrive in the mail which I can then use and take Kermit and the others and help them get spayed and neutered and vaccinated with a feral cat colony program that involves catching and releasing cats since most feral cats will be put to sleep in shelters anyway because of their lack of human socialization. Its better if they are released and care is continued for them.
If Kermit tests negative for Feline AIDS and leukemia I can take him home to live with my three other cats where he wont ever have to worry again about boiling hot summer days and freezing cold empty stomach winter nights. If he tests positive I can't bring him home because it puts my other cats at risk :(. So Instead he will be placed in a cat colony ear clipped where he can live everyday with lots of food and helpful humans who will keep an eye on him to make sure he is properly vaccinated and kept free of viruses and illnesses. I love Kermit <3
