Featuring Lion-Man and Lizard-Man!
So I bought this 2d platformer indie game called "Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap" a few days ago. Apparently its a remake/remaster of the 1980's game of the same name. I fell in love with the art style. It so simple yet charming. Not to mention the animation is so amusing. I love how the Lion-Man drags his sword around while moving, and Lizard-Man's crouch animation is so cute too! The soundtrack ain't all that bad either. The game was fairly easy, but it was expected since it's aimed for 3 yr olds. I'd like to see more games like this.

Yup, it's a remake from the Sega Master System version of Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap (it was also released for PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16). Was fun when I first played it back in elementary school. The original is not as forgiving as the remake (in Normal). Want more of a challenge? Play it on Hard mode. ;) It brings in some older Wonder Boy time passage elements and just makes enemies harder.
This could have very easily fallen into the official artwork and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference! This looks amazing! Exceptional work as always, but this is like a whole new level! I actually am getting this game on the 13th physically from Amazon, and I'm super excited to try it out, really makes me feel encouraged when I see others giving it good praise!
It's not really that easy. You can get tossed around lot and lose HP fast when the screen is so busy. XD
Beat it quite some time ago, but it's a fantastic remake of the classic game (which I also played). Nicely done on this too, especially capturing the art style so well. These two are favorite forms as well. : )

i was happy to have backed the company's initial LimitedRunGames prints of this game before. was well worth it.
Now we just gotta wait for Game Atelier to finish their work on Wonder Boy 4 remake as well :)
your fanart here is amazing for the game though ^^ almost mistook it as some of the art they threw into the physical print versions.
