Our dog, Gypsy, found yet another nest of bunnies in our back yard. My dad saw she had something in her mouth, and it was a bunny. He took it from her and put it back in the nest, sadly it didn't survive. So then there were 3. We decided it would be best for these little guys if we moved them. So, he packed them up and took them to a rehabilitater who lives in our area.
Rabbits love nesting in our backyard, and I cannot figure out why considering stray cats, not to mention our own Dog, is constantly in the yard. I always feel bad having to remove the babies, but if we don't the dog will eat them - or male rabbits will, which is what happened to one litter of bunnies we found last summer around this same time.

We took them to a rehabilitater who lives in the area. I've personally raised newborns before, but we didn't have a dog then. The cats never showed any interest, since they're used to the pet bunny we have, but our dog doesn't seem to understand that wild rabbits are the same as the pet rabbit, so we felt it safer for the little ones.
