come to think about it, wouldn't this backfire? I mean, how many people in the world can turn people into dogs? And I'm assuming they'd eventually realize who he is and he was indeed transformed . . .

unless they don't have any idea of anyone who CAN turn people into dogs, which kind of mutes the entire point of turning him in the first place, since he wouldn't be identified anyways.
