Sept. 2017
The background was a pain to do and at first I thought I could never give a proper water effect without getting into sharp detail. But then I watched Disney's Peter Pan and used some of teir tricks to render water simply.
I'm not fully satisfied with it and I can tell you another version will soon be available to my sta.sh, featuring Chocoecaramell's help (on dA). Cuz she helped me with William's paws by doing some redlines and I didn't use it here. Though it was helpful and I liked it very much. <333 I'm sure it looked more correct than mine actually, hence my need to use it.
Also Tsuki's face bugs me. I'm feeling a bit disappointed about it as I put quite some time during the sketch process to make it look not-so-bad. But I'm not used to drawing frontal views yet. Same goes for Willy's perspective. I worked with guidelines and grids and all, and yet I don't know what to think about it.
Overall, this drawing got me out of my comfort zone for sure : painting water, use of perspective, Tsuki's front view, ... and that's why I took so much time to finish it : too scared of failing~ :0
I really like working with this style when it comes to developing my characters. I didn't have the time to work on my OCs' stories at all during the Summer Vacation and it saddens me... I'm glad I could at least draw this one drawing showcasing Tsuki and William's childhood.
Hope you like it~
