This should have to be one of my favorite arts pieces I've seen, and I've seen a lot between her and DA. I first of all, LOVE the colors and the whole concept. The otter looks spectacular, and I really like the lighting. Wonderful work!

You know it reminds me a LOT of His Dark Materials!

What is 'His Dark Materials'? |D;

It's the trilogy of The Golden Compass from Phillip Pullman. In the book, there's these animals in this other dimension that everyone has called daemons that are a physical extension of the soul. And one of the characters has a fur color pattern that I imagine looks similar to the otter's. Also the otter has a strange intelligence in his eyes, like that of a human and the butterfly, a strange purposefulness about it; both like daemons. And further still, in the book, the aurora borealis is very important to the story line. I imagine the two could be daemons, talking to each other under the rip between the worlds <3

You might really like the books unless you're religious. They're kinda anti-religion but other then that, really awesome :3
