1800, Location Unknown. I do not know what day it is. Time is strange in this Forest. Hours and minutes quickly snatched and swallowed like gadflies by fog, shadow, and mire. I know not when I got here. Nor where I am. Two steps forward. Leaf and stick crack underfoot like brittle bones. I shiver and exhale another cloudy breath. Cold. So cold. I lost feeling in my hands and feet days ago. Or was it minutes? I do not know. I cannot know.
I lose myself to wandering this ancient wood. It is some simulacra of early morning when I find it. The Monolith. Perfect darkness erupting from the heart of a mire. The air is deafeningly silent here.
From the Monolith I see it slide. Its ethereal form moving softly through the air. Floating forward with an unnatural fluid grace. I attempt to move but find myself paralyzed. My minds screams falling on my legs deaf ears as I can do nothing but watch. Closer it comes. Closer. It stops just before me. Even thin as it was it dwarfed me. The thick spine of unknown ethereal flesh jutting from beneath it hovering mere millimeters from the mire.
Without warning my world blurs and I am thrown into wracking, violent spasms. My head! Gods my head! Its going to explode! Just before I feel my skull might give way the pressure stops. Leaving me winded and weak upon the mire. I feel the cold fingers of the black water fumbling at my neck and back. I manage one last look towards the grey and featureless sky. There are three of them now. Above me. Their flowering heads moving as they hover there. As my world fades to black I see a blossoming tendril extend from each. Before they can touch me I am free..."
Here we have an example of a creature very near and dear to me. I've taken to calling them Kivuli. Where the word came from I do not know but much like the creatures themselves it came to me in a dream. The creature you see portrayed before you now is what I refer to as a Second Sphere Kivuli. Specifically what I've taken to calling Imago.
