Over the past week I've been rolling the idea of Cougari as a character in the Secret of NIMH. Those who don't know me well should know that The Secret of NIMH made me look at animation totally differently. The Effects, the story, the characters, all of them were present for this. I downloaded the score from iTunes and am just enamored with this film.

You're not alone! The second one (Timmy to the Rescue? Something like that) was, in a word, epic fail.
Wait... that's two words. >.>
Don Bluth had some tremendously great films. Let's just try to forget the stupid sequels (American Tale 2 wasn't quite the fail, but still not nearly as good as the first) and Rock-A-Doodle, yes?

LOL I refuse to acknowledge the existance of the sequel.
That said:
American Tail Fievel Goes West was pretty good (because it was done by the same people)
The Land Before Time...sequels...that should have never been say I. UGH FAIL.
I liked Rock-A-Doodle!
Wasn't there an Anastasia 2, or was that the spinoff with Bartok? Anyway, sequel fail...I refuse to acknowledge sequels to movies that shouldn't have had one in the first place. LOL

Only... I thought Rock-A-Doodle didn't actually have a plot at all. Voice acting was great, don't get me wrong... and the art was great as well (in true Bluth style)! But it lacked any real story and the characters were rather bland, being re-heated leftovers from other animated movies. No backstory on any of the characters didn't exactly help for character development, either.
Dunno 'bout Anastasia 2! Never seen it, never care to. :p
And please don't remind me bout the Land Before Time fail. First movie = greatness. All the others make me want to do unspeakably horrible things to small, innocent creatures.
Same can be said forEisner's Disney's illegitimate bastard children sequels, with the possible exception of the Lion King 1 1/2.
