Known to be spiteful and to carry a grudge, once he was on the high seas again, Captain Blackblade found it only apt to change his original impaled dragon skull Jolly Roger into that of an impaled dragon turtle skull as a warning to the very beast that had the gall to sink his third ship, the Sea Drider.

The captain swore that one day he would find this very dragon turtle and exact his blood-soaked vengeance for making a fool out of the greatest pirate ever to have sailed the six great seas of the Forgotten Realms. And when that day came, the beast's skull would be mounted on his bow, so all would see and dread the coming of the dreaded Blakcblade Raiders.
