green copper is the magic-friendly metal that the First City is made from, and lots of Items of Significance are made of copper let to collect a patina

that's the key to Redbrook. she is the Burgermeister, Mayor, Chief of the Walls, Judge, Holder of the Key, and High Patron of Redbrook, and that's her symbol of office for one of those many titles, some of which her family made up just to sound more important

Oh, a city key made out of copper is way more cool.
