This was the final furry head I drew after attending that Michelle Light art panel. I used a picture by Goldenwolf as inspiration for this, as I adore her badgers. I definitely moved away from the Michelle Light approach as I flattened the head and widened the space between the eyes. I'm rather pleased with the cheek ruffs on this one.
I didn't mean for this to be the end. I had set a goal of drawing at least one head a week, but like many such resolutions, I became embroiled in other pursuits that I was more comfortable with and never tried again. Now the only time I draw is at the Anthrocon TF Art Jams. Still, I'm rather fond of these and finally made myself get around to sharing them with folks.
Maybe one day I'll try this again but do a Rat or Triceratops Head instead.

Yeah, I think the reason I didn't draw a rat was because their head shape was a bit different from what I saw in the Michelle Light style, or at least, so I thought at the time (I've since had Michelle Light do not only a badge, but a sketch for me).
If I were to try this again, Id' definitely give a Rat head a go.
I'm delighted you liked any of them. Thank you!

I applaud you, good sir... that's an awesome badger head. I've never drawn a badger before... and I can almost guarantee your drawing right there looks a lot better than what my first attempt could even hope to be... :oP
(I like the fox better though, for obvious reasons). :oD

Well, I had a really good model and I was following it closely. I can do a half decent job drawing when I have a model in front of me. My entry in this year's Anthrocon TF Art Jam had a model so it wasn't that bad either.
*chuckles* Yes, the fox is oddly popular.

I usually can't draw something accurately from a model unless I take quite a lot of time with it... either my own style wants to dominate the subject I'm trying to draw, or things get significantly out of proportion. I can trace, though, but that's just not the same...
