they are sort of a mix of insects (moths, in this case) and fish, sometimes with a little shrimp mixed in (not really in this case, though)

This is the mreer, a phenotypical subset of the namphyr who live in colder areas. They look kind of cute...

All namphyr are sequential hermaphrodites and change sexual function depending on the season and pressure and temperature of the water. In the mreer, when they have a male sexual function, they are much darker. When female they are much paler.
