One-page comic. Also, first appearance of the uber-brutal heel Darkstar, nee Lani Walcourt. Wish I'd left more space for text; couldn't fit in much of Nina being more light-hearted about the matter.

Well, given that Darkstar's stated goal is turning hopeful young wrestlers into twitching piles of fur and spandex, she certainly wouldn't go easy on Olive. She does have definite exploitable flaws in her fighting style, provided her opponents can survive or evade her onslaught. Also, Olive might fare better than Nina here, if only because Darkstar seriously has it in for Nina. ^^;
Right, kept those flaws under wraps, as some of them are plot-based. Basically, opponents who can keep a cool head against her do well; her tactics are entirely based around intimidation and overwhelming her opponent early. She can strategize, but not on the fly, and her tendency to bring out power moves early means she wears herself out early as well.
I agree with those benefits; I don't do roleplaying because free time has been at a premium for me in recent years, and I'm still not sure how comfortable I am with RPing a female character (I suppose I could create male characters for that last bit, but people who've asked to RP tend to want Nina and company involved). I've given it a shot with a few friends on dA through notes, and while I have nothing bad to say about the experience, I also wasn't super-inspired to seek doing it on a regular basis.

How about RPing by yourself, with your own characters? You know, being the GM and the player at the same time? I would do it with my own characters.
I am curious how RPing is done in a community like this. Does it use preexisting engines like FUDGE or d20? Or is it a completely different process altogether?

That's also a possibility...of course, all talk of who I'd be RPing as aside, the major problem for me would still be finding time to do so (plus if I had time to be RPing wrestling, I should probably be using that time to draw wrestling instead).
I can't attest to how everybody does it, but from what I've seen on matches posted to FA, it's not done with a formal set of rules. Participants alternate back and forth with actions; one proposes their attack, and the other describes whether they got hit or escaped it, with general etiquette being you can't make yourself to overpowered or the match too one-sided (at least not without the cooperation of the other RPer). My understanding is that it's less about winning and more about working with the other RPers to make worthwhile matches.

You're right, that situation would spell doom for the RP session, but if somebody develops a reputation for being RPing as invincible or impossible to hit (I think it's called "godmoding"?), they'd probably have trouble finding other people to RP with in the future, so getting into a situation like that is ultimately self-defeating.
That said, the only system I've heard of for RPing wrestling, anthro or otherwise, is something called GURPS Ring Dream, which is based on Japanese women's wrestling. There's probably something else out there, just haven't sought it out.

Hmm. I hear FUDGE is great. It is more universal, meaning it can be applied to any genre you can think of. The only problem with the system is the awarding of EXP, which is determined by the GM. I think a better way would be if you roll a +3, you get one EXP. If you roll a perfect +4, you get 2 EXP. You can also turn 3 EXP into 1 Fudge Point which can allow you to turn the tables of fate.
Look it up. The rules are free, and it is okay if you don't have the signature FUDGE dice. You can always use regular dice or an app on a mobile device.

Heh, well, if Olive's got the energy for it; Darkstar generally likes to do five different drivers in a row as her finisher if they aren't knocked out by the first one. But yeah, Elsa would make a pretty good team, as they have the same MO. I need to sketch up the re-design for Darkstar at some point; was going to give her a partial facemask and re-brand her as the Maiden Mangling Machine (Triple-M).

Nina: I knew, from a theoretical standpoint, how to counter, and I'd practiced it with Robin some before that. A thrashing like I was taking makes it a lot tougher to keep a clear head...but that's no excuse. Just had to shore up that potential weakness as fast as I could!
