Came across this while going through videos from a few months ago that I just got ahold of, and was converting from M2T to MP4. Quite a bit of files to go through. This is the shorty M44 I previously posted after I pinned and soldered the front sight back on and relieved the stock so it'd fit. Shooting Bulgarian heavy ball, it's plentiful and cheap. It makes such a wonderful, deep boom when you shoot it.

True. It's like the Obrez motivator that's going around "Obrez; for when you need to put a baseball-sized hole in someone within ten feet, and set them on fire, accept no substitutes" 'Cept this one's more accurate than that. Can still hit bottles at 50 yards without much trouble shooting cheap surplus.
Is the sight on there tight, and the crown nice? Usually when shortening barrels you increase accuracy, as the shorter barrels are a bit stiffer.
I was thinking of coach-gunning the m91/30 I was talking of earlier, cutting the barrel to 16.2" or something close to that, then shortening the stock to the point that it just barely clears the 26" minimum OAL.

Well, since it was already an M44, it didn't need any shortening. I just cut the barrel back near the stock and left the wood like it was.

I think Larry Potterfield may have posted a video on YouTube of how to make quick work of metal forend caps, though. Should be easy enough, just saw away extra material, then trim up with a flat rasp.
