I'm not starting into that whole Mac issue you had...I just prefer Macs. My boss has a PC that has given him nothing but headaches. I think it comes down to: it's a machine made by man, used/abused by man, and neither is infallible.
My sympathies for what you went through with the Mac however. That sounded horrible.

Blahaha, I teeeeeease. I am actually a fan of both systems.
Now Apple itself... that's a different story. :|
I second that philosophy. Both have their pros and cons.
Egh, well, it took Second Life for us to find out her hard drive was fault... which is odd, because it seemed to be working fine, except that it kept crashing SL, and it would make her Sims 2 game lag insanely -- which is odd, because it's offline.
But the price to replace it sucked.
What really bothers me is that a device on an Apple computer couldn't read Apple's own disc. Now, I realize that the DVD-rom drive isn't made by Apple... but still. :|

*sigh* I guess that's what happens when Apple decides to be an individual...complications.
Remember trying to be yourself in school? There was always the majority giving you hell.
Give them time...they may start making their own DVD drives. You know, cute lil sleek ones that cost more than the others that die hard Apple fans will swoon over :-P (I tease b/c Apple fans can be a little...dedicated to the brand)

I must have been in a school of weirdos, then. Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha.
Yeeeah, believe me I know. I have my share of Apple-fanatic-friends. It drives me wild that they have such a one-sided mind that repels any outside opinion.
...Referring to my friends, specifically.... not all Apple fans in general.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmebbe.
Aye, it seems XP is a nice fallback. But I'm an avid PC fan, especially with how user-friendly and wickedly-easily-accessible they are. And the fanbase support is phenomenal. Any problem with a PC can be solved by asking around.
Now, I'm not saying that isn't so for Macs, but it seems fairly more difficult. D:
