Well, it’s nice to finally post this. I’m still stuck in a writer’s block regarding the Sun story (though I’m slowly working on the first chapter, bit by bit), but this was a nice way to both flesh things out a little more. Felt a lot like the kind of oneshot I used to do a lot of, adding some more detail to the world I’m trying to write up. Whether it's through holidays (Valentines, and Johto's versions of Valentines and White Day), characters and things, or other stuff, I like how it turned out.

Rose's job in the anthroverse was always meant to be librarian, I think (partly because I feel it fits her character and also gives her a good excuse to read up and be the booksmart character of the team), but it’s nice to flesh out her job proper, and add some characters to the general “daily life routine”. I wrote this more from the perspective of “recently moved” (despite putting out a similar Valentines oneshot last year, eheh), and I like how it panned out.

Plus, I’ve sorely wanted to have a moment showing how wild and anthro Pokemon both live together in Alola, and the bit near the end shows that nicely, I think. It’s one of those things that I’ve put a lot of thought into - even if it doesn’t seem that different compared to the games, I’d like to show more and more how it stands out from, say, Unova or Johto or whatever. It’s a minor thing, but it’s a start, and that’s good enough for me! :V
