I imagine a lot of you are no familiar with these characters. They're from a semi-obscure comic book that . . . well, I can't honestly recommend it, because it's not really very good. Has some great character ideas and its core setting - something like Harry Potter by way of World of Darkness - is a good idea, but it's executed in an amateurish and sloppy fashion.
But god damn if I don't like this one character. Annabelle DeVille is her name and she is basically a total psychopath. She has no regard for other people's feelings or dignity, expects everything to go her way, and looks like just the most precious little princess while doing it. Also, she has a penchant for turning people into frogs (which has not at all influenced my liking of her, I swear).
She's got a really solid backstory, too, involving parental neglect, being shipped off by her parents, first to private magical tutors (who taught her to have no respect for non-magic people), then permanently to live with her aunt and cousin after her parents realized they couldn't control her.
Unfortunately, I only know the backstory because I've read her bio. You aren't even told any of it in the comic, so it might as well not exist, leaving her as just the bratty character of the group. It's basically the same mistake Image Comics made back in its day, where it was in such a hurry to introduce new characters and ideas that it forgot to actually develop any of them.
Sorry, I'm getting a bit off topic.
So, Annabelle has a "boyfriend" named Donny, who clearly had no idea what he was getting into when he asked her to go on a date. Here, he's learning his mistake after he bought her the wrong flavor of ice cream. He'll remember better next time. And there will be a next time, I promise. She'll change him back. She likes the attention he gives her, but you've just gotta correct those foolish mortals when they make mistakes, otherwise they'll never learn.
Aren't they just the cutest couple?
