A more stylized version of Drakor, after my previous attempt.
For some reason, in the render for Dinosaur Planet, his cybernetic claw cannon thing is on his right hand, while in StarFox Adventures, it's on his left. I surmise the image could be flipped, so I fitted it on his left hand.
If you asked me which one cancelled game I wish would get finished and released, Dinosaur Planet would be it. StarFox Adventures, which was originally supposed to be Dinosaur Planet, was amazing ( Yes, I loved the game. Sue me =P ), but... it was originally intended to be so much more...
Maybe one day I'll revive the story in a comic...

Well, Miyamoto told Rare (the developer) to use StarFox chars instead, noting the similarities in design. The whole game, which was already close to being finished, was pretty much cancelled and reworked into SFA. Though in SFA's development, Nintendo sold Rare, which forced them to rush the game to completion.
Considering this, I think that Miyamoto never interfered, we could've had both CBFD AND DP. DP could've very well rivalled Ocarina of Time as THE game of the N64.
Then again, I don't think he could've known they were gonna sell Rare to Microsoft. It's just being unlucky.
Still, we wouldn't have gotten SFA if we got DP.
I'm not sure where exactly the rights are, but I surmise the actual planet called Dinosaur Planet was renamed to Sauria for legal reasons in Assault. If that's true, then Rare would still own the rights to DP. If Rare feels like it, and Microsoft allows it, maybe we can one day still see the game actually come to be.
But I don't know who the owner of the story is, considering it involves Nintendo IP, and Sauria made an appearance in Assault... Then there's the matter of Krystal who's now owned by Nintendo... So we'll likely never see the game again.
