Why is this bunny so chubby? Is the reason actually the season? Blue is indeed a color typically associated with cold weather, but this is a contradiction; instead of embracing the winter weather (talk about contradictions, it was freaking 71 yesterday) this character instead is heavily-built, no pun intended, to withstand, to defend against the coldness. On the other hand, the color blue is also associated with extreme levels of heat, as experienced in black-body radiation. While having cheeks the size of coconuts would certainly insulate from heat loss, they themselves, as much as I'd like to think, do not radiate heat. A quick look throughout your gallery suggests to me that the primary blue color is unrelated to heat in any way.
But that doesn't answer my original question... was I looking at the wrong thing? A scarf usually, but not necessarily, suggests cold climate. I have the point out the color scheme... as someone who grew up with a piano, this scarf takes me back to the old days of performing at funerals and gatherings of all sorts. Not the most fun thing to be doing but I will say I've developed an aptitude for the white and black keys, and this scarf fills my head with music; bouncy but also heavy, naturally nimble yet weighed down in what I can only describe as being in a "squishable" way. It gives me a strong desire to want to hug someone, something, the music itself, even; yes, the context surrounding the bare outline given to me by this scarf lets me hear a song that just might be one of the chubbiest songs I've ever heard.
This music, though... doesn't remind me of winter at all, it doesn't really fit any specific part of the year, so I'm not yet convinced, but there is one more clue. The thick, fluffy fur visible below the scarf. I don't know what kind of rabbit this is but I do know that fur like that has a few, historically evolved, specific uses:
- Buildup of static electricity
- Demonstration material for comb adverts
- A chest pillow
- A napkin for wiping your hands after eating barbecue-coated foods if no paper napkins are available
- Insulation
- Demonstration material for brush adverts
You don't need to worry, I can put 2 and 2 and 2 together and deduce that this bunny is using the static buildup between his scarf and generously-grown fur, storing massive amounts in it in his high-capacity pudge-loaded body. I...think that's how it works, yeah? Yeah! The chubbiness is not an end, but a means to an end; what is that end? We may never know! May you succeed on your quest to become the greatest electric-type rabbit the world has ever known!
