Here's a rough sketch featuring my centaur ferret character who decided her name should be "Trixie". I originally did the sketches as a guide for the little sculpture I'm working on, and I was delighted at how the character developed her "Personality" with each image I scribbled down. I felt I'd share the doodles with the folks here on FA so they could enjoy them as well.
Oh... Don't worry about the lower, Right image. Like "Regular" Ferrets, Trixie's eyesight isn't as sharp as those of other animals her size, and sometimes during boisterous play she'll run full force into the wall. She seems to suffer no harm though, but it is kind of funny to watch her do that little "Frustration Dance" as she recovers.

I had a kitten named Bonzaii (lived to jump off high ledges onto people) who tried to charge head first through a wall a couple times. He just sat there and shook his head back and fourth afterwards like he was trying to follow the pretty stars.
Trixie, reminds me of him. Thank you for posting this vision

I was inspired to draw the doodle from a video about pet ferrets where one was chasing another, and the pursuing Ferret ran full speed into the wall while the "Chase-ee" made a quick get-away. What made me chuckle though was at how the poor Ferret which bumped it's snoot did this little dance which seemed to say "Ow! Ow! Owie! Where'd that come from?"
Yeah. Kittens are a lot of fun too. I liked your story, and I can imagine how a young kitty would possibly stare in wonder at the "Stars" it sees in it's head after bumping his noggin.

Rrrrg. I hear you.
I've got... 3 scanners, maybe 4, none of them seem to work as well as the one at my previous employment, and none of them are fast. I'm always tweaking the settings, but it seems no matter what I have to spend hours in photoshop, adjusting the greyscale then cleaning artifacts... mostly so it goes from looking completely shitty to just a little bit crappy.

I'm using a Genius SF600 tug-in scanner which leaves very little to desire. except that it tends to tug the paper in slanted, and leaves a dark line in the middle for unknown reasons, and some artifically bleached papers make the scan go dark... it's easy to use. around here they cost app. 60$ or so.
their flatbed scanners are pricey, though.
the old Canon LiDE20 scanners aren't bad, either. I can't use mine though because there are no drivers for win7 64bit.

Ah, I've wanted a stick scanner for work and conventions, but don't have one.
I do have a Canon, an Epson, a Brother, a Hewlet Packard. I inherited some from parents and friends who were downsizing. I suppose seeing which ones still have drivers or the best specs is probably the way to go.

She's a Beauty! No wait... Not THAT kind of Tubes. But yes. She does tend to "Collect" shiny things and will do remarkable tricks for a lick of Ferretvite straight from the tube. Unscrewing the cap from the tube is easy enough, but squeezing out the treat is another challenge.
