A Taste of Broody 2
Broody stood in the middle of the ring. To his left, half the federation roster had gathered behind a smiling, lean panther. To his right, the other half loomed behind a hulking ram. Broody had tried to stay out of their war for as long as he could, but today, it would engulf him too.
“Broderick,” the panther cooed. “It’s time you picked a side. And you know which side to pick, don’t you? We take good care of our friends.”
“Don’t be an idiot,” the ram barked. “Get over here, Broody. You can’t trust him. You can’t trust any of ‘em. Come. We’ll make you great.”
Broody looked left and right. He saw friends in both lairs, friends who now hated each other’s guts. His hands opened and closed, the buzz of the crowd escalating in anticipation. He shook his head. He could fight his friends, fair and square, to determine the stronger man. But he couldn’t hate them. He stepped out of the ring. This place was no longer for him. He smiled at his friends before turning his back on them. As he walked away, they crashed together in a massive brawl that left the ring spattered with red.
