Very interesting picture!
I get the impression that there's genuine affection between them, but also pain because due to some (to me at least) unknown circumstance they know it can't last - this is the one time together they'll get (or at least that's what they think).
Very nice work on the colouring and shading, and I love they way you did their hair.
