For the longest time, I've struggled to really enjoy my boys from Cockblock Kitties.
Like... I spent A LOT of time putting together who they are, where they come from, what's their dynamic... who are they as people. Because when I know them, the story kinda writes itself. It's easy for me to "see" the situations as they develop, because I know my boys as people.
A lot of that will never show in a goofy comic about getting cockblocked by cats. XD
And... idk if anyone else has this, if they have characters involved in large projects that you like... you start too avoid drawing them for fun, because all the drawings you make are "work"? Or should be?? Because I've had that, for the ~2 years I've been making Cockblock Kitties.
It's not that I don't love my little gay shits, it's just that I always feel this pressure to work whenever I even think about drawing them.
To churn out the next chapter, the next big illustration.
But... since I spent most of 2017 doing, shall we say, charity work, I didn't have time or energy left over for Cockblock Kitties, or much anything else. It was mostly a struggle to survive. So when I finally got the latest chapter out, I was just... overjoyed? In a way I've not been since I created these dorks. Which is why I decided to not take too much pressure and just have FUN and create this little pink selfie of them being cuties to celebrate that I'm finally back to working on them, working with them.
And I think, overall, I need to readjust myself to have less pressure and just have fun. There's no quality bar I'm not hitting I'd need to. It's just me, my imagination, my boys, existing and you may or may not like them - but I'll still make stories about them and their kitties, for me.
