I kinda have a bit of “head canon” scenarios if you will
- Her tank might have been ignited and while trying to get out, she is badly burned
- She could have been traveling to another base when an I.E.D detonates, killing nearly everyone inside and leaving Chloe scarred
- A friendly-fire incident involving incendiaries scorches Chloe and with a thirst of revenge

I did a little looking around and came across HungLee’s Deiviantart account and he made this remark for the same question asked on his “Autumn Jog” piece
“She got injured when her tank caught on fire in the ammo rack by enemy’s attack.”
Btw, I did my head canon/theories before finding this, so the correct answer was a coincidence
