This is kind of what my personal animal would look like.
I always had this idea of a red crow in my mind. Over the years it changed into only partially red and got these three huge feathers on the back of its neck.
His full name is Crah Redcrow, about 27 years old, 1.76 meters in height.
He was born with a speech impairment rendering his voice a very deep and dark cawing. His crow call did not sound like "Caah-caah-caah", instead more like "Crah-Craw-Croaw". He got his name that way.
As a member of the species Corvus brachyrhynchos (common American crow), he did not grow up surrounded by the best moral standarts. He has often been caught stealing, eating other crows that had deceased. He has a habbit of being involved in hand-to-hand-combat situations, most of the time to protect his own feathers from the owner of what he had stolen that time. Some other times he feels he has to silence other crows that have insulted him for his abnormal feather-color on his arms and his neck. (larger neckfeathers are a common thing, the color red however is not)
He invented a myth to explain his red armfeathers as the result of an old friend dying in his arms, bleeding all over him. Supposedly the blood never washed out again. His red neckfeathers he hides under the black feathers of his back. (Though, whenever he gets into a threatening situation, they come forth again)
To keep his head attached to his neck, he has build a hideout in an abandoned clocktower of a church that burned down a few years back.
He reads a lot, runs deliveries for local crime syndicates (especially those described as "dangerous", best pay) to earn his money. He hopes to publish a book of his own some day, a kind of autobiography.
His love interest is the daughter of his criminal boss. She is a dove that dyes her long, ground-touching headdress blue.

I really like the design, and I like his character from the bio you wrote.
The world you portray him in seems a little odd. Like when you said he's been frequently caught eating the bodies of passed away crows, it seems like an older maybe barbaric time. Yet he works for a crime syndicate, which makes it seem like a time in the early 1900's.
I love the texture you've drawn in too!

Glad you like it :)
And its all about the kind of society he grew up in and what species he is. Crows are known to be scavengers when needed, and so was Crah in his youth. It IS a crime in the time he lives in (modern, circling the drain, a decade from now) - actually one of the most despicable there are ... to feed off the own species - but I failed to mention that. ~~
I understand your confusion... I should have elaborated a little more...
But with any luck we'll see some more of the world Crah lives in.
And again, thanks for the fav!
