stickyfox suggested that I try using Dithering to get shading and detail for my laser etching. Here is the first batch of experiments on different burn times.

Left had a burn time of 50% power
Middle had a burn time of 35% power
Right had an original time at 20% then 30% to darken details.

I think the sweet sport will be about 28%
