This is a short beginning of a few fantasy stories I've written lately the world is slowly coming together but this is just a simple (and a bit silly) introduction.

"You have to be kidding me!" the gray wolf announced in irritation as she leapt to the side took aim and let loose with an arrow. Loud clanging and bashing could be heard in the moderate sized copse of tall oak that was a short trot outside a local town. "Longbow, really Dana? It's so unwieldy!"
A white with sable hair and nose markings jumped from solid tree-limb to tree limb only to stop and take aim with a large powerful bow. "And your compound bow has none of the accuracy or power Wielder!"
The wolf snorted and skewered a Kobold with an arrow. "How is that for accuracy and power? and speed!"
The collie snorted knocked two arrows and sent them flying each one into a separate kobold from her perch in the trees. Wielder laughed. "Oh trick shots is it now?"
Dana smirked as the wolf repeated the feat. A loud 'oof!' and a mutter and more clangs could "I thought we were trying to put our opinions to the hardest tests to prove who was right."
"Honestly you two!" another voice called out from the ground. "We need to concentrate on the job…" the cloaked collie frowned pointed an outstretched paw towards a kobold. "Searing Light!" she called out and a beam of energy lanced from her palm to the Kobald stunning it in pain long enough for it to be pincushioned by several different arrows. "... This pack of Kobalds isn't the only problem the town is facing!" she continued as if she hadn't even cast a spell."
"Well, she started it!" Wielder began.
Picking up on it and sticking her tounge out Dana fired another arrow this time skewering one of the lizard like monsters before it got to her twin. "Did not!"
Krystal sighed. "This isn't a competition."
Both Dana and Wielder looked at each other smirking back at Krystal. "Since when?" they said in unison.
There was another ‘ooff!' and loud crash. "Um guys..." a strained voice called out to the side of the clearing and all three of the females turned to the akita/malamute mix in armor, shield held in a blocking position of one Kobald that had tried to bash his head in with an ax while he swung with his unengaged paw, large warhammer coming across from right to left hard on a second kobald causing the creature's eyes to bulge in pain as severe blunt force trauma savaged its right side. He shoved the creature off his shield spun, bashed in its skull then stepped up to a third Kobold as it tried to rush in towards the three females bashing it hard with his shield. None of his attacks were putting a Kobold out of action like each of the females had but they were doing one thing, keeping a lot of the creatures focused on him. "Can... you stop bickering long enough... To give me a little help?"
"Chaser down!" they all three called out in unison.
He bashed another kobold with his mace stepped back panting heavily grounding the large shield on the dirt right in front of the group he had been keeping at bay as a rain of arrows felled the first rank right as they tried to overwhelm him and a searing beam sliced across in the wake of the arrows downing the final rank of monsters.
The tall broad shouldered canine looked up from his shield having closed his eyes to prevent being blinded by Krystal's spell and finally stood a bit wearily letting the big hammer drop from his paw with a ‘thud' to the ground. "Th... thanks." he announced then looked at the trio. "What... What were you arguing about anyway?"
"Nothing important," Wielder said with a smirk as Krystal rolled her eyes and Dana playfully stuck her tongue out at the wolf.
"Besides, I won," Dana announced in triumph.
"How do you figure that Princess?" the wolf asked slightly annoyed.
The sable headed white collie simply smirked pointing at the downed monsters. "More of my fletchings in the Kobolds than yours."
The wolf simply smirked and crossed her arms. "Yeah but I see an equal number of downed between the two of us, so I'd say that wins [i/]me[i] the round."
The tall canine blinked looking back and forth between the two and then back at the battlefield. "Um... if that's true, I don't think either of you technically won."
He pointed to the small skirmish location to the monsters felled by both archers and then to the row behind that contained two more bodies than that of the archers that had been scorched across their torsos.
Krystal simply raised an eyebrow at her twin and friend before turning to Wielder specifically. "You are the one that knows these woods, I think you need to take the lead from here on out..."
