Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack
All dressed in black, black, black
She leapt so high, high, high
she touched the sky, sky, sky
and didn't come down, down, down
'til the city died, died, died.

The sky's a line blend, and here and there it opens up to see the page behind.
Hmm. Much more saturated colors than usual, actually giving real thought to the bg, working on drawings originally done while in very altered states. That's mostly what's different. Oh, and there's texture, but that's been on and off for a while.

To put it as I told my girlfriend, your artwork lately has so much verve that it makes me want to use buzzwords like verve. Or something.
But that sounds really stupid.
Looking at it again, this picture is more believable than any photorealistic vector "art" I've seen, and that's a really interesting thing. It has life, I suppose.

Oddly enough I was looking at a couple of those commercials the other day, as I flipped through Ghostbot's recent work. Those guys do a real nice job making Flash not look like Flash; Ballestros' 'Joe Paradise' was one of the first Flash series I actually enjoyed watching.
