This is a pic of both the teddies together that i've made so far. This shows that they are both about the same size (about 11" standing) and that both of them have working joints. Their faces are a little different from one another, but that is because they are OOAK and have slight differences.
Teddy Arctic fox and Teddy wolf are both edited from a free web pattern and personal creations.
As i said before after more editing of the pattern I may sell these as custom commissions.

this is the original pattern and a really cool way of learning how to dye mohair... i personally can't afford mohair though hahaha.
I changed the ears and the tail - i also had to manipulate the size of the pattern to get it to print correctly. I use the base body of it, but add a tail and change the ear shape. I also didn't listen to the directions as far as what size washers to use for the joints. I went to home depot after I finished sewing (I had changed the size of the pattern to print it out and wasn't sure what would fit now...) I use 5: 3/8" screws and nuts (come in a packet from home depot of fives, very convenient. ) then I get 10: 3/8" x 1-1/2 washers and some smaller 3/8" washers to complete the joints. I'll probably make a joint tutorial later if it is requested by someone. I finish the ends of the joints off with hot glue so that the joints don't pop off after everything is sewn (making sure to get a few of the screw threads so the nut can't unscrew).
If you need more help - let me know and I'll try to help ya out! :D
I'm going to manipulate the pattern more as time goes on and play with it a bit. My next project I think will be a rabbit, so that will take changing the feet and nose a bit more. :3
BTW- congrats on news of a baby! :D you must be so excited! you could make a teddy for the little one before they get here!
