After their village was destroyed, Lei took in little Song as his own. Naturally, he had to protect her since he was no more than a defenseless child at the time. Lei was more than happy to use his scarf to keep her warm and safe. Sure it meant he had no arms while traversing the harsh landscape, but that didn't bother him. The only thing that mattered was getting her to a place where they'd be safe...
