Commission for DelightPrints - another "artist's choice" image! I had originally intended this to be more a bird of pure shadow rather than a dark phoenix but I was struggling with the dark values a lot, wanting something bright for the shadowy aspects to contrast against, so it ended up turning into this instead :V I still might have preferred my original concept, but dark phoenices are cool, too :3
