*NEW ART* 'Ciro, PostWar'
Hey y'all,
'Cause
dingopatagonico is The Man.
With the war heating up, Rupia had been increasing it's military stance. With Soviet client-states moving forces things were becoming nervous.
Then it happened, a full exchange.
There weren't many strikes of any kind near Rupia, and the country itself was unscathed.
But Rupia's neighbors took the opportunity to expand borders, or get revenge for past ills.
Warfare exploded all around, and soon Ciro's own country was assaulted.
Falc's military began a series of lightning strikes, spearheaded by the Falcquenan Popular Army's Special Forces Divisions.
And Rupian Air Force Base Stavropol was one of the first hit.
At 0256, Ciro was awakened by the dull 'boom' of the gate going down, as Falc's SF Division 17 hit the entrance. Moments later sirens began to go, as the flightline was hit by Divisions 23 and 04.
The small fox rolled from his bunk, throwing on the web-gear he'd begun stashing by his bunk when things got 'hot'. He yanked back on the charging handle of the old AK-47, slamming a round into the chamber. His ears and tail flicked, as he listened and planned.
Ameria was pulling an overnight watch at the control tower. Others were coming awake, and he could hear shouts, and off near the hangers, the sporadic popping of several gunbattles. Furs were yelling, and he could hear engines, and some heavier machine guns beginning to fire.
Ciro checked the area outside the barracks, momentarily staring at a hanger wreathed in flames. He shook his head, and started towards the cluster of control buildings, the night sky now leaping with flames, as the security teams engaged the Falcquenan infiltrators. Smoke was eddying around from Falc smoke grenades, covering their advance. Shadows ran in a low crouch, silhouetted by the flames of burning fighter planes. Members of Division 23 were between him and Ameria . . .
Ciro dishing out some hurt, as he fights his way through a Falc attack on his base.
Pencil sketch, with MS Paint polish.

Looks great. The shadowing implies the late hours, the expression is great, the details on the gun are superb. Looks really, really good. The older picture of Ciro in a jungle is more detailed and finished than this, but this has a lot more movement and emotion in it. One question: Is he hitting anything when he's shooting like that? Sorry, just my military training kicking in... "Thou shall not fire without aiming." Yup. Great work. Nice to see something more elaborate from you now and then. Keep it up.
A lot of nice detail in this one. The shading and shadowing you used highlights the overcast of night. The explosions and puffs of smoke from rounds hitting both the round and the brick behindhim give the impression of an attack coming from all directions, and the large plume of smoke ahead of him makes one imagine something terrible is either headed his way...or lies in ruins before him. And the expression shows true git and determination. Either he is going to take out everyone and everything he can...or his is going to die with his weapon in paw.
