Hey guys still running a little late in this month, but will have a review soon this sunday morning to make it just in time. Decided to go with the Club's favorite of the brand. Was one of my few faves as well. Let's get right to it!
Perdomo Champagne Robusto:
Wrapper: Champagne Connecticut
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
Bright and Shiny from the first glance at the box. Like a fresh batch of Champagne bottles ready for the shelf at the liquor store. The bands surely indicated this by presentation. Golden from the shine they showed some spunk. The wrapper itself was nice and clean and firm to the touch. Nearly smooth in appearance despite some curves and lumps. Seems and veins were practically invisible. The scent was light in pepper and cedar notes. The predraw was nice a smooth loose.
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were semi sweet, like a light caramel. Soon there was some medium white pepper notes to follow. The draw was nice a loose. Alot of smoke enveloping. A faint trace of cedar notes soon followed along, but mainly in the back. The body in the beginning was light and calm. The retro hale was giving off some stronger cedar note than from the intake. So far, very calm.
The Burn Part 2:
Soon the pepper notes were join in a bit of a combination with bread notes. Sort of a little more sweet take for the next 3rd coming along. The stick was becoming a little thicker in some notes. The caramel was thickening up a little bit. The cedar however was staying in the same area of strength. Still the body was calm but started to go into the medium range. I had some Strong Bow Hard Cider at the time. sort of a little balance in the sweetness with my pallet. No complaints so far.
The Burn Final:
Some notes at this point are starting to fade a little, but not that much. Pretty much at this point the medium body in the cigar itself has stayed the same until the last few puffs.
Verdict:
The overall taste is great for any occasion. Definitely in the morning with a cup of coffee.
Next Week Early: Perdomo Habano Connecticut
