Title comes from Firefly--the first episode, where Wash is playing with his dinosaurs and the dialogue is: "This land is fertile land! And I shall call it... This Land!!" It's a very cute scene. Anyway, moving on.

Well,  nanuka has a "wishlist" kind of thing going on in her journal on DA and FA, and she asked for a few things. I decided I'd kind of roll it all into one--not only is this Sonar, but it's Sonar in steampunk gear that's inspired by music, done in traditional media! Eventually, I'll color it.

Anyhoo, Sonar has such a cute design, with big ol' ears and a giant jingle bell on her collar that I've been looking for an excuse to draw her art--mainly to thank her so much for watching me!! I never thought an artist with the renown she has would ever watch little old me. I'm not particularly "known" like she is--I don't even do commissions yet lol.

Inspired by Owl City's "Umbrella Beach." It really reminds me of all the adventures Sonar must go on out in the steampunk world, travelling from place to place in vehicles powered by steam. I thought suspenders would be really cute to add to her existing character design. Anyway, here's the lyrics!
