"Let the fireworks begin" - Drake Morton
A new picture, starring two of my characters: Evelyn the firebrand and Drake Morton, aka the Dragonmaw. Two beings born under the star of flame, they both know the secrets of fire magic. So this pic shows a clash of two hotheads, and they seem all fired up. Ok, enough fire puns already.
Drawing this picture was fun, because I had to draw fire for the first time ^.=.^
I enjoyed it, so I might do it again.
Enjoy the picture.

The fire looks really good. It must have been a tough work shading the characters with all those different light sources around x_X
However, I think the picture loses a LOT of its suspense by not showing even the tiniest bit of Evelyn's face. When you told me earlier that you were drawing a picture of Evelyn, I was looking forward to seeing the picture because I like her very much, you know that. Therefore it kinda disappoints me that I don't get the slightest glimpse of her eyes that glare fiercely at Drake Morton; in my imagination it would have been really cool. Furthermore I am not sure whether you really should draw no eyes at all, even if you draw her face at this angle - it does look kind of weird somehow :/

Hmm... It is semi-profile from the back, so the lack of eyes seems correct to me. The only thing that may be wrong is the position and the ankle of the ears.
To show the faces of both characters I would have had to draw them from the side. I tried to avoid that though because I wanted to add some dimention in my picture, therefore one of the charas had to face away from the viewer. I made a mistake with this by placing both of the characters on a line parallel to the viewer, so the effect doesn't work properly.
I chose Evelyn for the face-away because she's the more passive part of this picture and as one of my more important protagonists she will be in some other pictures where she will get the chance show her face.
