I may guess the artist you are mentioning... He is actually a very prolific one, with more than 5000 submissions.
I don't remember him asking any request but more "art trades" to quite a very large amount of people... including artists.
It would be very mean from me to make fun of his work... even if I am quite tempted to make a random "art generator".
And I don't believe one would need to use any obscure deep learning method to program this generator...

Hah ;) I actually get it here worse than I do on DA. I actually find it flattering that folks are interested, but it does seem pretty rude when it's the first thing they say and, as soon as I say that I'm not, no other interaction follows :P Not entirely sure how this relates to La Petite Prince, but I do appreciate the reference!
This picture was actually inspired by a note I received on deviantArt: I have just copy-pasted its whole content of in the speech bubble...
I don't know if I could consider this kind of note as rude. It is innocent, vain and somehow a bit sad because, as you say, there is no interaction.
Concerning the reference, let say that there are some less kind interpretations of this little (annoying) child asking for a drawing:
