I am aware the game gets more difficult the more you progress, but it does get easier the more you play and experience it. No experience point system required, either.
In my case, it's been a trip down memory lane of when I used to play Monster Hunter 3 on the Nintendo Wii. Ain't no complete scrub, either. Of course, I won't want to get too confident about how "easy" the new game is. XD

The Anjanath wasn't easy because his weak point is his chest and neck. You need a weapon that hits high enough to wear him down like a lance or switch axe, or maybe even a bowgun if you got at least other online players going melee on him.
For my first hunt against him, I used a Great Sword. I was able to capture him without fainting. My previous experience hunting Deviljho a lot in MH3 must have paid off, I suppose.
And the underwater hunts in MH3 did feel awkward at first, but yet it added a change of pace to the game and made for some interesting swimming monster designs. The Royal Ludroth, Gobul, Lagiacrus, and Ceadeus; in my opinion, those monsters look more interesting than some of the monsters in MH-World. It's a shame you can't hunt underwater anymore, though I'm sure it was in response to the former complaint.
