Yes, persian dragons are in Persian mythology, but they're notsomuch played up as grand, fantastic beast as they are simply part of the animal kingdom. Along those lines, you can find them in girift-o gir art motifs, "give and take"s, images of animals fighting for food&survival and there's the dragon, subject to Darwinism, living and dying like anyone else.

In Zoroastrianism, Angra Mainyu made and used them to put stars in Spenta Mainyu's 'perfect' clear sky; They were the spreaders of Chaos elements there. This person has lined up the physical differences between Persian and Chinese Dragons very nicely. They're also citing some of the same books I have, so have at!
