This is the ShyCrestedGirl's first furry reference. The Character, originally named Kira, was born in the summer of the year 2000 not long after I met my first Chinese Crested Dog. The character was originally a girl who was cursed. Anytime this young high school student would get upset, angry/sad/frustrated, anything where she was overly stimulated she would turn into a small yappy hairless dog. It was a very funny and down to earth story line.
At the time this character was born I didn't know what a furry was, once I found out furries were a thing I evolved my character into a completely anthro "fursona". After eventually finding out about FA I found an artist I could afford, made a paypal account and purchased my first real reference!
So while I certainly had animal, demon, shapeshifter, anthro type characters before 2011 this was the first reference sheet I purchased in the furry fandom. I was so excited and it came out wonderfully!
Notice the brown eyes and minimal furnishings. Originally I was most interested in my Fursona being a Show Quality True Hairless Slate and Pink Spotted Chinese Crested Dog with White Furnishings. I would later change her to be more in tune with me and less "perfect example of the breed"
