Aewenor had been separated from the rest of his party and surrounded by blood-frenzied orcs. The orcs pace around him snarling and taunting him.
He won't have time to cast any of his battle magic to aid him. He can only rely his enchanted, shapeshifting spear.
Out of the corner of his eye, Aewenor sees two orcs lunge towards him. He dispatches them quickly and swivels to face the others only to see the outline of an orc axe bearing down on him. He braces himself and turns away, resigning himself to his fate.
There is a sudden shining flash of white and a loud clang rings out on the battlefield. Surprised, Aewenor opens his eyes to see his new mouthtail has protected him from the crushing blow. It's looking at him and nods slightly when it realizes he's safe. Suddenly, his knees buckle as his tail roars and swings itself wide repeling the orc back.
Smoke starts to fume from its nostrils and it rears back its head and emits a stream of scorching flames setting the orc ablaze. The tail then circles him as it ignites the ground with fire, encasing him in a circle of protection.
