Heritage flight, Tucson 2
I was watching all weekend the Davis Monthan AFB Heritage days , Heritage flights overhead, and today there was a good dozen aircraft up at once.
This was the only flight I caught with a P-38 Lightning in the flight.
Top to bottom
F-35
F-16C
P-38 Lightning
F-22 Raptor
A-10 Warthog
Overhead out of shot was a flight of 3 P-51s and a F-86 Saber and another P-51 playing sheepdog, rounding up the flock.
It was totally cool seeing this.

The only P-38 I ever saw was in the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH.
Local MBS International Airport stopped hosting an annual airshow--featuring the Thunderbirds--in the late 1970s. The airport management claimed they could no longer afford to shut down operations long enough for the aerial display. MI is now lucky to host a single performance of the team each year, compared to three or four.
Each Labor Day, FNT (Flint Bishop Airport) hosted the Blue Angels. That airshow got killed when they made attendees park offsite and be bussed to the airport. Thus limiting patrons to purchasing food and refreshments at the airport. Rather than ride in a crowded bus with strangers, then wait in line for overpriced hotdogs and pop, folks just stayed home.
