Kahu is so happy he might squeeze the container any second now!

At the beach Kahu wanted to buy himself a soda after the days hard work but realized he had forgot any kind of pennies or coins at home. Embarrassed by the situation he quickly turned to leave the line but before he had he got stopped by a friendly cat behind him. ''I'll pay for it, don't worry.'' She smiled and payed for both his soda and her own ice cream.

Still surprised by the sweet gesture from a stranger he looked at her, puzzled. ''Why are you looking at me like I've just paid you for a new car? Here you go, you looked like you needed it.'' Kahu grabbed the soda and swallowed before mustering the courage to utter a shy ''Thank you''. As he looked up, he got another warm smile from the cat and just like that she was gone.

Kahu waved his tail, smiling to himself. Hoping that the day he would meet her again he would pay back the debt a hundred times more. To her it was probably just a small sweet gesture, but to Kahu, it meant the world that someone had reached out to help him, the simple manokit he was. He took a sip and wagged his tail even faster.

It was the best soda he had ever had.
