A concept I've been waiting on from another artist for far too long so I've decided to move on and thankfully enough I was able to strike up a commission from 
kiguri to see it brought to life.
We all know Ellixer at this point, a Pilgrim that resides within Limbo but Ellixer had a chance encounter with Lacering who showed her the way and the will of the Church of Heretics. She pledged herself to the Red Sun and accepted the Sigil of Heresy. Through her pledge, she received the Aegis of Ash and acquired the ability to summon Ash as a means for shape-shifting: she became an Annex of Darkness.
This image is a rendition of her transformation as it begins, the body hardens, forming cracks and fissures as the flesh dries and begins to burn, smoke begins to billow out from the crevices and the Ash rises to wrap around the body as she begins to change.
