Basically I just took Gavin's advice of if I started feeling sick I just will-powered my way out of it.
I would explain away a stuffy nose or a sore throat on the weather, having just woken up, or something similarly mundane but not illness related, and just wouldn't get sick. After that I was cold-free for about a year and a half, till I shared a room with a friend for a convention who was really sick with what I think was Bronchitis. I tried to mind over matter it but I fell sick anyway. That was the last time I got sick since.

I mean, even for this, I actually only had a dry cough for a couple days, and didn't know what was causing it. My bet was going to be lung cancer or something equally awful, but then I thought "well... maybe I AM sick afterall?" and the next day I woke up with just about every symptom of the flu I could have.
so I guess the good news is it's PROBABLY not lung cancer.

If I still have a dry cough after this all goes away I will probably go and get checked out because I know that can be a bad sign.
