Makes me think of the mutant deer that Blaine the Mono obliterated in The Dark Tower series.

Huh... i've read that but i don't remember a deer! (at least i've read the first 4 books, and Blaine was in the 3rd one iirc, unless he somehow made an appearance later on too?) It was a while ago though... Such a cool series. I only stopped because i didn't have the rest of them heh

They make references to Blaine, but no he doesn't show up again. The deer shows up during the riddle challenge. They talk about a deer who was almost normal except for having a fifth leg that flops around, and that she's managed to have at least two viable children, and such. Yeah, the book series is amazing. But the deer stops to drink at the lake, and is startled by a sound/sight of the pink monorail, but doesn't have time to react and is killed along with a lot of other critters when it speeds by at 900 mph, and how it's followed by a sonic boom that kills a bird that happened to be in the area from it's incredible force. I believe the deer is murdered by it's mere speed of passage, not actually being hit by it. Sorta like how the Flash has to wear that thing that keeps him from generating shock waves at huge speeds.

That is to say, Blaine appears in the third and forth books, but not after that.

Ohhh yeah the 4th book is mostly a story about Roland's past told while they're riding blaine, isn't it. I need to reread these x.x (and finish the series)

Well, the story is told after Blaine when they end up in that thinny surrounded dead town with the wizard of oz thing going on. xD Definitely re-read them, they're amazing ;=;

I'm not sure why, but this kind of terrifies me. I feel so bad for the one whose legs don't even reach the ground. What if she gets so tired of a life where only her sister gets to choose what they do that she eventually snaps and absolutely rips into her neck and ends both their existences? X_X *shudder*
