Sure, I agree; I'd tag her taur body the moment I saw that plastic shield. What really bothers me is the fact that she's wearing plate armor on her chest but not on her torso / forelegs.

I agree, seems rather pointless when your body is as large as a car. You're still an overly massive bulky target.

True in this particular moment, but once they take cover behind a wall and shoot over the top (or any other conveniently placed obstacle) that shield is gonna be near impenetrable unless you manage to circle around them

no shield is invincible. spray it and it will go down.

It's indeed not a "I'm invincible, I can just sit here and shoot you while you can't hit me" device. That wouldn't be fair anyway.

But if you use cover properly (aka duck behind it when you are being sprayed) and only come up for return shots, then that shield nicely balances some extra protection against how it makes wielding the gun slightly more cumbersome.

If you are super fast and agile, you might rather choose against it since it slows you down, but if you are a taur creature - then your tactics get borrowed from battle-tank warfare :)

Tanks are fast, so are most taur. I'd suggest full body armour over a vest and a face shield. A big creature like that will find it harder to take cover. No one would shoot at the face unless it's the only exposed part (unless you're a sniper but even then snipers often aim for the body too; with a gun as powerful as that, it doesn't matter where you hit them.)
a better weapon would be a back mounted turret. They ain't fitting through doorways anyway and they can definitely support the weight.
