Yes he's a pet.... interestingly tame....could just walk right up to him...there were some fawns in the pen too, all rescues like this one was.

rescued as a fawn when his mother was injured or killed...they didn't get to detailed about circumstances....they just said that all the deer there were brought in as fawns because there mother was either unable to care for them, rejected them, or was dead....now I never heard of a doe rejecting a fawn, but I guess under certain circumstances it could happen.
